Short facts
Our fields of work
The initial situation
Live events are becoming increasingly popular, and in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, this trend has only intensified. Regardless of the industry or occasion, we have all taken part in some form of online live event in recent months. Whether for meetings at work, at school or for pure entertainment, online events are gradually and unconsciously becoming the new way to interact with each other.
When the organizers try to involve their audience and make their program more interactive, they use a variety of functions. Breakout rooms, hand signals for polls, emojis or simply the comment function. What was still missing, however, was the option to applaud, clap or cheer virtually. This led our partner and us to the following challenge: How can we enable our audience to express their enthusiasm virtually and as realistically as possible in real time?
The solution
Together with our partner CarlNann, we decided to develop a tool that allows users to applaud online. This requires the creation of interfaces: one for the organizer and one for the audience. We therefore developed an administration console for the organizers and a web application for the guests.
The organizer can use the management console to organize and plan upcoming events. The audience then receives a QR code to scan, which takes them to the ClapConnection web application. Once approved, the audience can then clap and cheer with just one click.
To make it even more convenient to use, organizers also have the option of choosing a subscription that best suits their needs. This enables them to hold interactive events without any restrictions.
Result
With the development of an online gossip tool for events, we have come another step closer to our goal of closing the gap between the real and virtual worlds. The digital world has now been enriched by another form of interaction: Clapping and cheering.
The clapping of each individual guest is gradually added to the sound so that the acoustics sound very realistic. As at a real event, one or two people usually start clapping slowly before the whole crowd joins them. Particularly enthusiastic people can even use the booster to add a loud cheering noise to their clapping.
