The initial situation

Originally, the Microsoft Questival was planned as an annual onsite event where employees came together at a real location to celebrate successes and inspire each other. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event had to be completely redesigned to reflect the new circumstances. The challenge was to create an engaging and motivating experience that brought employees together despite physical distancing.

The solution

The Questival team worked closely with Microsoft to develop a virtual event that was both entertaining and informative. The solution included:

  • Development of a gamified platform: We designed a user-friendly platform on which employees could participate in various challenges and quests.
  • Individually designed “quests”: Each quest included puzzles and tasks that allowed participants to test their knowledge and gain new information at the same time.
  • Interactive online search: Employees were able to search for information related to the past year’s successes on a digital scavenger hunt.
  • Celebrating success: During the event, the company’s successes were recognized and the course was set for the new financial year. This took the form of virtual celebrations and interactive elements that motivated and bonded the participants.

Result

The Microsoft Questival was a resounding success and was recognized as award-worthy by the jury. The event achieved its goal of inspiring and motivating 2,000 employees by providing them with a unique combination of fun and learning.
